VMFA FELLOWSHIP!
I was honored to be awarded one of 12 Professional Visual Arts Fellowships from the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts for 2019. The fellowship includes exhibition opportunities and funding to support my artistic research. This year, over 780 applicants competed for 28 awards in three categories.

ZANESVILLE PRIZE FOR CONTEMPORARY CERAMICS
My piece "Bioform II" was a finalist for the 2014 Zanesville Prize for Contemporary Ceramics- a new juried exhibition in Zanesville, Ohio. This year's show was juried by Sherman Hall, Brad Schwieger, and Angelica Pozo. ALthough I did not win an award, it was great to be included in such a competitive exhibition.

BEST IN SHOW!
I am very pleased to announce that I was awarded Best in Show at the 2013 Strictly Functional Pottery National. This is always an excellent exhibition, and I am honored that juror Jim Connell chose my work "Shot with Beer Chaser" for this award.

Residency/Exhibition/Workshop
Vallauris Institute of the Arts, Vallauris, France
This summer I will be spending the month of June in the French Riviera, working as an Artist in Residence at the Vallauris Institute of the Arts. The Residency conludes with an exhibition of the work I will be making, as well as a five day intensive workshop entitled "Mixed Methods, Multiple Meanings," that will focus on my sculptural work.

Workshop: "Pottery for the Wood Kiln"
The Glassell School of Art, Houston Texas
This hands on workshop will focus on techniques for creating functional and sculptural pottery to be fired in an Anagama style wood fired kiln. Wheel throwing and hand building demonstrations will be interspersed with slide presentations and individual instruction. Students will participate in the loading and firing of the kiln, which will last for 4 days and nights.
